About the Game
DISSONANT ECHOES is an upcoming 3D asymmetrical horror game (ASYM) created by Peater-The-Plant. Drawing inspiration from games of the genre like Sonic.EXE: The Disaster by Outlaik and Sonic.EXE: Outcome Memories by 1sobbe, the game carves out its own path. Unlike many titles within the genre, its cast does not rely on existing intellectual properties or classic myths (Other than references). Instead, it features entirely original characters, including custom variants of original characters (OCs) created by the developer’s community and friends.
Gameplay & Objectives
The primary objective of DISSONANT ECHOES is pure survival. In the core game mode, a team of up to 7 Survivors must cooperate, manage resources, and play strategically to complete objectives and unlock the exit. They face off against a single, powerful Killer.
While certain mechanics may allow Survivors to temporarily stand their ground, direct confrontation is heavily discouraged. Teamwork and coordination significantly increase your chances of survival compared to attempting to fight the Killer alone. Special alternative game modes are planned for future rotation.
Development Update: Moving to Unreal Engine 5
The original prototype version of the game has been indefinitely cancelled to allow the developer to distance themselves from the legacy platform ecosystem.
However, the vision is far from dead. DISSONANT ECHOES is currently being actively rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5. This transition brings a completely overhauled art style, superior performance, and a more robust infrastructure while preserving the fundamental gameplay concepts and original lore that inspired the project.
This is a project made entirely as a hobby by Peater-The-Plant, there won't be any micro-transactions, nor you ever will need to spend a dime to play the game.
Please note: There are currently no public playable builds available. Stay tuned for future development updates.
